FAQs
Employer Frequently Asked Questions
Why is CSHP's local presence so important?
CSHP's local presence provides us with in-depth knowledge about individual providers and physician practices throughout our eight county service area. Being a local PPO has also allowed us to develop strong relationships with both small and large employer groups in our service area. These strong relationships enable us to have a thorough understanding of what employees need and want from their healthcare program. As a result, we become partners with providers, payors, members, employers, and enrollees.
I am self-employed. Can I buy a CSHP-affiliated health plan?
Yes. There are competitively priced plans available for sole proprietors and small employer groups.
How many employees are needed to self-fund my health insurance expenses?
Generally, Third Party Administrators (TPAs) will work with any size employer to self-fund their health plan. However, stop loss carriers typically require a minimum of 50 enrollees. CSHP works with many TPAs that serve the needs of larger employers in the region. The CSHP Select Health Plan is a monthly aggregate program that allows small employers (20 employees or more) to self-fund their health benefits.
Is CSHP an insurance company?
No. CSHP does not pay medical bills. CSHP is the network of health care providers that is accessed by various payors.
What should I do if I have questions about my CSHP-affiliate health insurance plan?
A representative of CSHP will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have. CSHP has a dedicated 1-800 number for all questions (1-866-890-CSHP). There will also be telephone numbers on the back of the enrollee identification card for the insurance company, third party administrator and utilization management company.
How much does a CSHP-affiliated health plan cost?
The cost of CSHP-affiliated health plans will vary, based upon the age of the individual or group enrollees and the medical underwriting conducted by the insurance company. Please contact CSHP at 1-866-890-CSHP or an insurance agent that markets plans affiliated with CSHP to obtain a specific quote.
I am an individual. Can I obtain individual coverage from CSHP?
Currently we do not have an individual plan available. Please check back as we are developing new products.
Where can I obtain a list of CSHP participating providers?
